There are all sorts of tours available whether you choose to explore by ground or air, on your own or guided. Here are a few to whet your appetite.

Ground Tours

These companies specialise in guided half and full day island tours of Pearl Harbour, Circle Island, North and South Shore, Polynesian Cultural Centre and many others.

Hawaii Nature Centre:
The centre offers a variety of weekend hikes and walks for adults and families which explore archeological, historical and nature sites.

Home of the Brave:
Half-day tours with guides in WWII pilot uniforms who take you to Oahu military bases and historical wartime sites where stories of the past will come to life.

Dolphin Excursions takes you by boat to visit these much loved creatures in their own back yard.

and environs. The Luau Tower was the tallest building in the State when completed in 1926. Tours upon request.

Chinatown is home to fascinating history. Two walks are offered, one every Tuesday morning by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, while the Chinese Historical Society offers weekday morning walks through shops, historic buildings and a large open market.

Honolulu Timewalks are great adventures and "good fun". Walks include "The Revolution of 1893", "Scandalous Days of Old Honolulu" and the most popular "Ghosts of Honolulu". Advance reservations suggested. Honolulu's historic district features over a dozen architectural styles adapted to Hawaii's climate. AIA Honolulu offers 90 minute guided tours by a local architect. Reservations a must.

Air Tours

Oahu looks quite different from the sky — you'll be struck by its beauty.

Glider Rides:
Soar over Central and North Oahu in one and two passenger gliders. A truly natural high!

The Island Seaplane
A unique way to see half or all of Oahu. Half and one hour trips in quiet comfort for 4 — 6 passengers from Keehi Lagoon near the airport. Complimentary van service available from Waikiki.

Helicopters:
Helicopters give you a truly different view of Oahu, allowing you to manoeuvre around spaces and hover for a longer look over Waikiki, Diamond Head, Pearl Harbour and the North Shore.

Makani Kai Helicopters has 30 and 60 minute flights, while Rainbow Pacific Helicopters offers 20 and 60 minute trips.
