The US state of Hawaii lies 1,470 miles (2,367 km) north of the equator and 2,500miles (4,025 km) Southwest of North America. The six islands of Hawaii are Oahu, Maui, Kauai, The Big Island (Hawaii), Molokai and Lanai, each offering something for everyone - history, romance, natural beauty, a mix of cultures and traditions, tastes and sounds that can’t be found anywhere else.

Mark Twain called Hawaii ‘the loveliest fleet of islands that lies anchored in any ocean.’ And indeed nature lovers are in for a treat, with Hawaii boasting spectacular beaches, wondrous scenery and a tropical climate making this a dream-come-true destination.

From white-sand deserted beaches, secluded waterfalls and candlelit alfresco dinners to private cruises, accompanied only by dolphins, it is easy to see why this is a top wedding and honeymoon destination.

The islands’ diversity is also evident in the enormous range of experiences available on a trip here - shopping, golfing, kayaking, nightlife, hiking, health spas and adventure, the list is endless.

Hawaii - Cultures and Traditions

The islands have a total population of 1.2 million, consisting of a variety of ethnicities including Caucasian, Japanese, Filipino, Chinese as well as Hawaiian. All these cultures and traditions combine to provide Hawaii with its rich history and cultural diversity. From the first Polynesian settlers to the various immigrants of the last two centuries, the islands of Hawaii are a cultural melting pot of food, language and customs.

Hawaii is certainly the Aloha state. Commonly heard as a greeting, Aloha is a magical phase that gives Hawaii its nickname, it also means love, kindness and compassion - a living personification of the best of Hawaii and its people.
